Donna Garner: A career educator and author known to so many, taught in Texas classrooms for 33+ years, and was appointed by President Reagan and re-appointed by President George H. Bush to the National Commission on Migrant Education. She also served on the English/Language Arts/Reading writing team for the state of Texas when the curriculum standards were developed in 1995-97. She then became the lead writer of the Texas Alternative Document for ELAR and years later worked unsolicited to help develop the new ELAR standards for Texas. Those so needed standards were adopted in May 2008.

Further, Ms. Garner was the writer/researcher for Scott & White Worth and served as the writer/consultant for an online tutorial to teach eager learners, English proficiency. In the last few years, as a writer, researcher, and publisher of articles covering political, social, and education issues, she has kept the public informed — never wavering from the “bottom line,” better said, “telling people the truth!” When making decisions for the children and youth of our nation, Donna’s work and her tenacity have set the road straight!

In the midst of her activities, Donna Garner has tried not to neglect her family; and she and her husband celebrated their 50th anniversary this last summer. They have two sons, two daughters-in-law and five grandchildren (freshman in college through third grader).

Her passion, so stated, “is to make sure that this and future generations appreciate and uphold the American dream so that all of the children and youth of America will have the opportunity to be successful.” Her dedication has made a difference! Indeed, a true Upton winner!

Antoinette Tuff is a person and only the person upstairs knows how many student’s lives that she has saved. Confronted with some person who snuck into her school with a weapon, she calmly defused the situation, and saved many lives of many students and teachers. Often it is not the big policy analysts that should be recognized, not the book authors but the people on the front lines of education who today put their lives on the line every day that they enter a school or classroom. Antoinette is a “ bookkeeper “ or “clerk“ in a Decatur, Georgia school that talked rationally to an alleged gunman and convinced this person to surrender to the police. More details can be found on the Internet regarding this wonderful person, who certainly would have given her life for the students in her school.

Michael Nuccitelli, Psy.D. is a New York State licensed psychologist and forensic psychology consultant. He completed his doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology in 1994 from the Adler School of Professional Psychology in Chicago, Illinois. In 1997, Dr. Nuccitelli became a licensed psychologist in New York State. In 2006, he received the Certified Forensic Consultant designation from the American College of Forensic Examiners Institute. As author of the theoretical construct, iPredator, Dr. Nuccitelli is a cyberbullying, cyberstalking, online sexual predation, internet safety and Cyber Criminal Psychology educator & investigator. These are issues facing the children and youth of America and are beyond widespread; schools all across America could benefit from his programs and consistent  research.

In September 2011, Dr. Nuccitelli established iPredator Inc. offering the private & public sectors educational and advisory services regarding internet predators, cybercrime & the cybercriminal mind. In June 2013, Dr. Nuccitelli and iPredator officially launched their internet safety website, iPredator, providing an incredible amount of information, education and advisory services on internet safety, dangers of the internet and his iPredator. Concurrent with the website, Dr. Nuccitelli also regularly updates their Forensic & Cyber Criminal Psychology blog, Dark Psychology and internet safety blog, Dr. Internet Safety.

Dr. Nuccitelli became interested in the psychology and profiling of those who use Information and Communications Technology [ICT] to abuse, steal, taunt and victimize others online in 2009. In 2012, Dr. Nuccitelli and his colleagues grew even more determined to develop victimization prevention & intervention strategies for vulnerable online users. At the center of iPredator’s products, services and corporate mission is Dr. Nuccitelli’s two theoretical constructs, iPredator & Dark Psychology. Since 2009, Dr. Nuccitelli has dedicated himself to learning the psychological composition of those engaged in nefarious, deceptive & malevolent online activities in an effort to help solve these dangerous issues and a worldwide tragedy.

Dr. Valerie Hill-Jackson: As a winning 2013 Fulbright scholar hosted by the Center for Critical and Cultural Theory at the School of English Communication and Philosophy at Cardiff University, Dr. Hill- Jackson, is a worthy Upton Sinclair winner. Upton would have loved this story, reminding so many that were loved and were lost decades later, and of the many sacrifices had gone unnoticed.

Fulbright scholars are recipients of a highly competitive, merit-based grant for international educational exchange. The Fulbright award was founded by United States Senator J. William Fulbright in 1946 as a means to facilitate intercultural understanding around the world. Dr. Hill-Jackson is a Clinical Associate Professor at Texas A&M University. Hill-Jackson is a tireless champion of students from marginalized communities and uses her stories about teaching in Camden, N.J. and community endeavors to rally future teachers to focus pedagogy on the voiceless. She is a nationally and university recognized educator having garnered: 2002 AERA/Spencer Award; 2007 Maybelline / People Magazine Women Who Empower Through Education Award; the 2008 Texas A&M University (TAMU) Association of Former Students Award for Distinguished Teaching; 2008 Transfer Camp Namesake; 2010 Student Lead Award for Teaching Excellence (SLATE) at TAMU; 2010 Outstanding Panhellenic Professor; and 2011 National Society of Collegiate Scholars Inspire Integrity Top 10 Finalist award. All of Hill-Jackson’s experiences are uniquely tethered to the advancement of educational justice.

As a scholar of critical teacher education and community studies at Texas A&M University, and knowing the blind-spots of history, she decided it was no longer acceptable for the stories of 70-plus war brides of color to go unheard so she applied for and won a Fulbright scholarship so that she could return and properly research the subject. Tiger Brides: Memories of Love and War from the G.I. Brides of Tiger Bay (in Cardiff, Wales) is the result of several months of interviewing Tiger Bay residents, G.I. brides and their children, local historians, World War 11 experts and anyone else who could help her to piece together the story of wartime black G.I.s and their brides.

The ground breaking documentary “Tiger Brides” was created, narrated, co-produced and co-directed by Dr. Hill-Jackson. It was filmed and co-directed by Anthony and Simon Campbell, of 15th Floor Productions, who were born and raised in Tiger Bay. The inaugural U.S. screening of the documentary will be held in Houston February 2014. Hill-Jackson adds, “the documentary is another example of the lost perspectives of the voiceless. My job as a critical educator is not over until the stories of the under-represented are a part of the national war bride narrative. In this way, history is honored and I can walk the talk for future teachers.”

As a final for the Upton Sinclair recognition is the Houston ISD senior class winners of 186 million dollars in scholarships in 2013! We are grateful for the leadership teams and the great teachers who work with the student winners! The American Dream is alive and well!

A Pasted Section from iPredator’s

Darkside of Cyberspace Webpage

As this writer continues to work on iPredator , iPredator Bridge [Dark Side of Cyberspace] and Dark Psychology [Hidden Realm of  Human Consciousness], the question of etiology and modus operandi related to evil remains elusive at best. Thousands of hours have been spent formulating these concepts with the next three-four decades to inevitably follow. It is no wonder why the fields of psychology, sociology, physiology and all religious dogmas have merely scratched the surface.

Researching ancient history, recent historical events, great philosophers, cosmology, quantum theory and religious interpretations; combined with this writer’s past clinical and forensic experiences, has led to his novice conclusions defining evil called iPredator, iPredator Bridge and Dark Psychology. Humanity is the apparent apex of all sentient beings on Earth and one would think the location, roots and mechanisms of nourishment for evil would be mapped and supported by global consensus. Immediately and always called to mind is if other apex creatures, inhabiting planets throughout the universe, experience this same conundrum.

Just as Stephen Hawking, Albert Einstein and other notable theoretical physicists have attempted to connect the “very large” (aka, cosmology) with the “very small”  (aka, quantum mechanics), this writer posits that these same principles occur within humanity as a whole and within the human mind.

In relationship to history, it is of little human value, nor relevant to this writer’s pursuits, to castigate or pass judgment on if and how past atrocities occurred. If one does not subscribe to the accuracy of recorded history, then there are many other venues to consider. For example, if concluding that the Holocaust or similar historical mass genocides are nonsense and propaganda, then consider the American born profiles of Ted Bundy, Richard RamirezJeffrey Dahmer and other prolific serial murderers as starting points. Whether attempting to succinctly interpret the motivations of Heinrich Himmler or Luis Garavito, the reality is that there resides within all humans a reservoir (aka, unconscious) from which malevolent desires are born, fed and coddled. These desires are fueled by progressively obsessive fantasies and a deviant attraction for power, control and domination.

Then comes along the historical and societal paradigm shift known as the Information Age, whereby technology and all internet enabled connected digital devices create the abstract and artificial illusory environment called cyberspace. It is within cyberspace, that this writer’s concepts of iPredator, iPredator Bridge and Dark Psychology merge into a proverbial “soup.” This writer has attempted to map this cyber convergence he has called 5PV. The primary difference between 5PV and all other criminal, deviant and abuse victimization models, used in its design, is the environment in which the interplay between predator and victim exchange occurs. This environment, which benefits iPredator, is cyberspace.

For the first time in human civilization, the abyss known as evil can be observed and witnessed with minimal effort within cyberspace. Unfortunately, what one sees with his or her eyes is not what is always accurately interpreted and imprinted within the unconscious. Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and the internet are brilliant designs of human invention. Cyberspace, the artificial environment accessed via electronic devices, is a remarkable engineering feat that has, and will continue to do so, change the very fabric of human consciousness and what it means to be community centric.

As an academic and philosophical disciple of Carl Jung, Alfred Adler, Robert Hare, Philip Zimbardo and Stanton Samenow, this writer seeks to rely upon their visions to one day define why cyberspace is causing a cultural disconnectedness. Unknown at present, cyberspace has built within its structure a method for circumventing a person’s capacity to practice humility, charity, self-preservation and mutual respect for others. What this writer calls the “veil of anonymity” within cyberspace,  a new perceptual dimension has been created. Cyberspace is an artificial world that can accelerate a person’s unconscious desire to engage in criminal, deviant and immoral acts, even if it is not part of their genetic or environmental heritage.

This proverbial “digital depravity factor”  has already reared its ugly head evidenced by the rapid growth of cyberbullying, cyberstalking, online sexual predation, cybercrime and various other forms of online aggression and victimization. The explosion of online deception alone should cause communities to mobilize fearing an attack. The only iPredator typology not having come to fruition to date is cyber terrorism. Only time will tell if a major cyber terrorist event will target American soil within the next century. If humanity does not mobilize to implement a strategy stopping the societal disconnectedness this writer posits as growing, an optimal environment for cybercrime, online aggression and victimization are the inevitable outcomes.

“The desire to terminate life fuels the actions necessary to quench that desire’s thirst. The question remaining unanswered is from where does this desire hail and how did it get there, within the human mind, in the first place.” Michael Nuccitelli, Psy.D. (2006)

Dr. Internet Safety (aka, Doc iSafety) is an abstract pediatric internet safety character and teen prevention education blog that educates tweens, teens and adult caregivers on cyberbullying, cyber harassment and cyberstalking prevention, online sexual predator identification, cyber security, the dark side of cyberspace and developmentally appropriate iPredator concepts. Dr. Internet Safety is Developmental Psychology and adolescent maturation savvy in relationship to Information Age tweens and teens.

Dr. Internet Safety accepts and communicates to children supporting their perceptual distortion of viewing themselves as being more technology, social media and cyber safety skilled then their adult counterparts. From an sociological standpoint, Dr. Internet Safety seeks to make all K-12 educational systems include internet safety classes compulsory for all American school districts. Lastly, Dr. Internet Safety has graduate level experience in iPredator profiling, cyber deception and the Information Age Education triad of Humility, Prevention Education and non-denominational Family Values.

Dr. Internet Safety’s managing author, Michael Nuccitelli Psy.D., is a NYS licensed psychologist and forensic psychology consultant. Recognized by the American College of Forensic Examiners Institute [www.ACFEI.com] and the nation’s oldest internet resource for educators, Education News [www.EducationViews.org] and premiere educator assessment company, Haberman Educational Foundation [www.HabermanFoundation.org], Dr. Nuccitelli is author of a new Technological Predator construct called iPredator.

Under his theory, cyberbullying, cyber harassment, cyberstalking, internet trolls, cybercrime, cyber terrorism, internet addiction, cyber deception and the severely disturbed are the typologies and arenas iPredator addresses. Also included in iPredator is how Information Age society has drastically changed, becoming more isolated and disconnected leading to a paradigm shift in violence, crime and deviance. The formal definition of iPredator is as follows:

alfred adler-ipredator-cyberbullying-cyberbullying prevention

iPredator: A person, group or nation who, directly or indirectly, engages in exploitation, victimization, coercion, stalking, theft or disparagement of others using Information and Communications Technology (ICT). iPredators are driven by deviant fantasies, desires for power and control, retribution, religious fanaticism, political reprisal, psychiatric illness, perceptual distortions, peer acceptance or personal and financial gain. iPredators can be any age or gender and are not bound by economic status, race, religion or national heritage.

iPredator is a global term used to distinguish anyone who engages in criminal, coercive, deviant or abusive behaviors using ICT. Central to the construct is the premise that Information Age criminals, deviants and the violently disturbed are psychopathological classifications new to humanity. Whether the offender is a cyberbully, cyberstalker, cyber harasser, cybercriminal, online sexual predator, cyber terrorist or engaged in internet defamation or nefarious cyber deception, they fall within the scope of iPredator. The three criteria used to define an iPredator include:

I. A self-awareness of causing harm to others, directly or indirectly, using ICT. II. The use of ICT to obtain, tamper with, exchange and deliver harmful information. III. A general understanding of Cyberstealth used to engage in criminal or deviant activities or to profile, identify, locate, stalk and engage a target.

Unlike human predators prior to the Information Age, iPredators rely on the multitude of benefits offered by Information and Communications Technology (ICT). These assistances include exchange of information over long distances, rapidity of information exchanged and the seemingly infinite access to data available. Malevolent in intent, iPredators rely on their capacity to deceive others using ICT in the abstract and artificial electronic universe known as cyberspace. Therefore, as the internet naturally offers all ICT users anonymity, if they decide, iPredators actively design online profiles and diversionary tactics to remain undetected and untraceable.

Cyberstealth, a sub-tenet of iPredator, is a covert method by which iPredators attempt to establish and sustain complete anonymity while they engage in ICT activities planning their next assault, investigating innovative surveillance technologies or researching the social profiles of their next target. Concurrent with the concept of Cyberstealth is iPredator Victim Intuition (IVI). An iPredator’s IVI is their aptitude to sense a target’s ODDOR (Offline Distress Dictates Online Response), online & offline vulnerabilities, psychological weaknesses, technological limitations, increasing their success of a cyber-attack with minimal ramifications.

Concurrent with iPredator is Dr. Nuccitelli’s Criminology construct, Dark Psychology. Dark Psychology is the study of the human condition as it relates to the psychological nature of people to prey upon others. All of humanity has this potential to victimize other humans & living creatures. While many restrain or sublimate this tendency, some act upon these impulses. Dark Psychology seeks to understand those thoughts, feelings and perceptions that lead to predatory behavior.
